My son wanted a castle building block and so I searched endlessly for a set that would allow him to build one himself over and over in many different configurations. Most of the ones I saw were very expensive so ended up settling on The Happy Architect set. I liked that it was large and a child could build whatever they could imagine. Here are our thoughts;

Pros:
* Large size - I really liked how big the set was and my son loved that he could sit inside his castle
* Price - This was the cheapest set I could find at $70
* Quality - The blocks are good quality and sturdy and I could see this set beings used for many years
* Storage - the set all fits in a shoe box size cardboard box that it comes with and is easy to store away
Cons:
* The configuration of the blocks is not very practical and my son easily became frustrated that not all the blocks fit together. I always had to help him build a castle and even I found the parts frustrating.
* Neither of my children are able to build a castle themselves (they are five and three) which is really disappointing. This set is definitely for older children.
Thoughts:
We are going to sell our set of blocks as my children simple do not play with them which is disappointing. They would probably be better for older children but even then the configurations are not practical and very limited. I did however find a really great value castle set at Lychee Toys that my son loves.
